Social Editorial is where you create and manage LinkedIn posts and Reddit posts.
You can write them from scratch, repurpose existing articles into multiple posts, or let ContentMonk generate them with AI.
Posts created from the Repurpose step in Content Editorial also show up here.
The post list
The main view shows all your posts in a table with columns for headline, content preview, style, author, status, created date, and publish date. Each post has a platform icon next to the headline showing whether it's a LinkedIn or Reddit post.
The filter bar at the top lets you filter by platform, author, status, and style. Use the search bar to find posts by keyword.
You can switch between table view and calendar view using the toggle icons next to the '+ New button'. Calendar view shows posts on a monthly calendar by publish date, so you can see your entire social schedule at a glance.
To quickly view or edit a post without leaving the list, click the arrows icon on the left side of any row to open the side panel.
You can also select one or more posts using the checkboxes to delete them in bulk.
Creating LinkedIn posts
Click '+ New' and select LinkedIn.
The creation modal opens with an AI/Manual toggle at the top.
AI mode lets ContentMonk generate the post for you. Fill in the fields and click 'Generate'.
Platform lets you switch between LinkedIn and Reddit from the same modal.
Number of posts sets how many posts to generate at once.
Source Type determines where the content comes from.
From scratch means ContentMonk writes based on your instructions alone.
Repurpose lets you select an existing article from Content Editorial and ContentMonk turns it into a LinkedIn post.
Authors selects whose writing style ContentMonk uses. This is multi-select - you can generate posts for multiple authors at once.
Publish Date sets when the post should go out. Posts with a publish date show up in the calendar view.
Instructions is where you describe what the post should be about. You can type '/' to reference documents from your Knowledge Base, and use the Voice button to dictate instead of typing.
Advanced expands the Post Styles section. Available styles are Auto (ContentMonk picks the best fit), Short Story, Long Story, Authority, Contrarian, Listicle, and Engagement. We recommend leaving it on Auto in most cases.
Manual mode skips AI generation and drops you straight into the editor where you can write the post yourself. You'll see a blank editor with a Generate Draft button at the top if you want ContentMonk to write a first draft you can then edit.
Creating Reddit posts
Click '+ New' and select Reddit. The creation modal is similar to LinkedIn but with a few differences.
Subreddits is required. You need to have subreddits configured in Workspace Settings before you can create Reddit posts. ContentMonk analyzes each subreddit to understand its rules and what posts perform well there, so the content it generates fits the community.
Post Type sets the format.
Value Post is educational and informative.
Discussion Starter is question-based, aimed at starting a conversation around a specific topic.
Source Type works the same as LinkedIn - From scratch or Repurpose. When you select Repurpose and pick an article, ContentMonk analyzes it and generates an
Angles & Topics section with suggested perspectives for the post. Each selected angle generates a unique post from a different perspective. You can also click '+ Add custom angle' to write your own.
Instructions and Author work the same as LinkedIn. Reddit posts also have a Voice button and support '/' to reference Knowledge Base documents.
Editing posts
Click into any post from the list to open it in the side panel. The editor shows the post content with formatting options limited to what each platform actually supports - bold, italic, and lists.
LinkedIn and Reddit don't support things like underline, headings, or tables, so those options aren't available in the toolbar since they wouldn't transfer to the platform anyway.
You can use AI to help with editing, the same way as in Content Editorial.
Type '/' to open the command menu - it shows the full range of options including ContentMonk AI for generating content, plus formatting like headings, bold, italic, underline, and more.
Keep in mind that while all these options are available through the slash command, not every formatting option will transfer when you copy the post to the platform.
LinkedIn and Reddit don't support things like underline or headings, so any formatting they don't support will be stripped when you paste.
The toolbar at the top of the editor only shows the formatting that actually works on the platform - bold, italic, and lists. You can also select any text to get options for rewriting or custom instructions.
Click 'Generate Draft' at the top to have ContentMonk write a first draft if you're starting from a blank post, or 'Regenerate' to create a new version of an existing post.
At the top of the panel you'll see the post type, style, author, status, publish date, and several actions:
β
Publish sets the publish date for the post.
Upload Media lets you attach an image to the post. Once uploaded, it appears at the bottom of the editor with options to replace or download it.
Preview opens a preview showing how the post will look on the platform - both desktop and mobile views side by side.
Copy copies the post text to your clipboard so you can paste it directly into LinkedIn or Reddit.
The character and word count shows at the top of the editor so you can keep posts within platform limits.
Post statuses
Every post has a status that reflects where it is:
Draft - created but no content yet, or manually written and not finalized.
Generating - ContentMonk is currently writing the post.
Ready - the post is complete and ready to publish.
Failed - something went wrong during generation.
You can filter the post list by status using the status filter in the top bar.
Posts from Content Editorial
When you repurpose an article from the Repurpose step in Content Editorial, the generated posts automatically appear here in Social Editorial. You can edit, preview, and manage them the same way as any other post.
The calendar view combines nicely with Content Editorial's Combined Calendar option, giving you a single view of all your articles and social posts scheduled across the month.
ContentMonk currently supports LinkedIn and Reddit posts, with more platforms planned.
