Connecting Google gives ContentMonk the real performance data behind your content: sessions and conversions from Google Analytics, and clicks, impressions, and positions from Google Search Console. Both connect from the same place and unlock Page Analytics and the metrics on your Home dashboard.
What each connection unlocks
Google Analytics (GA4): traffic by source (organic, direct, referral), sessions, engagement, and conversions (GA4 key events) - per page, in Page Analytics and on your Home dashboard.
Google Search Console: clicks, impressions, average position, and indexed status per URL, plus top search queries - and it feeds keyword suggestions in Rank Tracker and opportunities.
Together they turn Page Analytics from an empty state into a full per-URL performance view.
Requirements
A ContentMonk workspace on any plan, with Admin access to manage integrations.
A Google account with access to the GA4 property and/or the verified Search Console site you want to read.
Both are read-only - ContentMonk never changes anything in your Google accounts.
How to connect Google Analytics
Go to Workspace Settings > Integrations. Under Search & analytics, find Google Analytics and click Connect.
Choose your Google account and approve access on Google's consent screen. (Google asks for both Analytics and Search Console permissions at once - that's expected, and it's why connecting Search Console next may not prompt a second time.)
Back in ContentMonk, the Choose properties picker opens - select one or more GA4 properties and click Connect.
How to connect Google Search Console
In the same Integrations > Search & analytics section, find Google Search Console and click Connect.
Choose the same Google account and approve if prompted.
In the Choose sites picker, select one or more verified sites and click Connect.
When your data appears
Both show "Initial sync scheduled - data within 24h" right after connecting; the card then updates to "Synced Xm ago".
Google Analytics traffic columns typically populate within seconds of connecting; Search Console clicks/impressions can take up to a day for the first sync.
Open Page Analytics (or click View data in Page Analytics on either card) to see it.
Manage or disconnect
Each card lists the connected account and every connected property/site; use + Add property / + Add site to connect more, or the trash icon to remove one.
The "..." menu offers Test connection and Disconnect.
Troubleshooting
Page Analytics still empty / Search Console columns blank: the first Search Console sync can take up to 24 hours - re-check the next day.
The account picker doesn't remember your choice: connecting Search Console after Analytics may show all accounts again - re-select the same Google account.
Conversions read 0: that's the real value if the GA4 property has no key events in the period (not an error). Make sure you connected the property that actually records conversions.
A property/site is missing from the picker: confirm your Google account has access to it, then reconnect.
