Connecting WordPress lets ContentMonk read your existing content and publish new articles straight to your site. You approve the connection once from your own WordPress admin - ContentMonk never asks for or stores your WordPress password.
What connecting WordPress does
Imports your existing posts and pages into Content Editorial, so you can see, edit, and optimize them in ContentMonk.
Lets you publish or schedule finished articles from ContentMonk directly to WordPress.
Optionally uses your imported articles as Knowledge Base context, so new briefs match your voice and depth.
Seeds your URL list in Page Analytics (full analytics also needs Google Analytics and Search Console).
Requirements
A ContentMonk workspace on any plan, with Admin access to manage integrations.
A WordPress site where you are an administrator, running a modern version of WordPress over HTTPS (Application Passwords enabled - the default on current WordPress).
To publish, your ContentMonk role must be Editor or above.
How to connect
Go to Workspace Settings > Integrations. Under Content management, find the WordPress card and click Connect.
In the Connect WordPress dialog, enter your Site URL (for example
yourblog.com) and click Continue to WordPress. The first click verifies your domain - you'll see a green Domain verified confirmation. Click Continue to WordPress again to proceed.
You'll land on your WordPress admin's Authorize Application screen. Review it and click Yes, I approve of this connection. No password is copied - WordPress creates a dedicated application password just for ContentMonk.
You'll bounce back to ContentMonk and see a WordPress connected confirmation. The WordPress card now shows Connected, along with your site and username.
Can't complete the redirect? Use the Having trouble? Use manual setup instead link in the dialog.
Import your content
On the connected WordPress card, click Import pages. ContentMonk pulls in your posts and shows live progress (for example, "Importing 600 / 2,695 pages").
When it finishes, your posts appear in Content Editorial as articles (status Live), ready to edit and optimize.
ContentMonk then asks "Use your articles as Knowledge Base?" - choose Yes to let them ground future briefs, or Maybe later. You can change this anytime from the Finalize step of any article or from Configure Knowledge Base on the card.
Publish or schedule to WordPress
Open any article and go to the Finalize & Publish step. With WordPress connected, you'll see a Publish to WordPress option.
Choose to publish now or schedule it for later. Publishing writes to your live site, so review the title and slug before you confirm.
Manage or disconnect
On the WordPress card, open the "..." menu for three options:
Test connection - re-checks the link to your site.
Configure Knowledge Base - controls whether imported articles feed the Knowledge Base.
Disconnect - ContentMonk stops reading from WordPress. Imported articles you never opened are removed from Content Editorial; articles you opened, edited, or that feed your Knowledge Base stay. You can reconnect anytime.
Troubleshooting
"Continue to WordPress" seems to do nothing: the first click verifies your domain - click it again to continue.
The Authorize screen doesn't appear, or the redirect fails: make sure you're logged into your WordPress admin in the same browser, then retry - or use manual setup from the dialog.
The import count looks off partway through: the final count settles when the import completes - give it a moment.
You can't publish: check that your ContentMonk role is Editor or above and that the card still shows Connected (use Test connection).
