The Competitors page is where you manage which competitors ContentMonk tracks. Once you add a competitor here, their data shows up automatically across the rest of the product - and each section uses it differently.

In the AI Visibility Overview, you can see how your brand visibility stacks up against competitors across all tracked prompts.

In Prompts, you can see which competitors are mentioned alongside you in each specific prompt and how their visibility compares to yours.

In Sources, you can identify domains where competitors are being cited but you're not.

In Rank Tracker, you can compare your keyword positions against theirs side by side.

And in Opportunities, competitor data is what powers SEO Gaps - showing you keywords they rank for that you don't.

The more competitors you track, the more complete your picture of the competitive landscape is.

Summary metrics

At the top of the page you'll find four metrics:

  • Tracked - how many competitors you're currently tracking

  • Share of Voice - your share of voice compared to the average across tracked competitors

  • Trending - how many competitors are trending up in AI visibility

  • Head-to-Head - the percentage of your tracked prompts where you appear alongside competitors

  • Coverage Gaps - how many queries mention competitors but not you

Tracked competitors

Below the metrics you'll see all your currently tracked competitors, each showing their name, domain, and how many times they've been mentioned across your tracked prompts.

Click the 'trash' icon to remove a competitor from tracking.

Adding competitors

Click 'Add Competitor' in the top right to add a new one manually. Fill in the competitor name, their primary domain, any domain variations if they operate across multiple regions, aliases - alternative brand names they go by - and optionally an average customer value, which ContentMonk uses to estimate potential pipeline in Rank Tracker.

You can also add directly from the Suggested Competitors section below - ContentMonk automatically identifies competitors based on your category and shows how many AI mentions they already have.

Click '+ Track' to start tracking any of them.

Once added, ContentMonk starts tracking that competitor across all your tracked prompts - the same way it tracks your brand.

Their data will appear in the Overview, Prompts, Sources, Rank Tracker, and Opportunities from that point forward.
