ContentMonk offers three plans - Starter, Pro, and Scale - each with different limits on how much you can track, create, and collaborate.
This article explains what each plan includes, how credits work, and how to manage your billing.
You can check your current usage anytime by clicking the 'coin' icon in the top right corner of the screen.
The Credits & Usage panel shows progress bars for every limit on your plan. Click "View billing & plan details" at the bottom to go to the full Billing page in Account Settings.
Plans
All plans include 4 AI models tracked (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI, Claude), and every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. You won't be charged until the trial ends, and ContentMonk sends a reminder email 2 days before.
You can switch between monthly and yearly billing at any time. Yearly billing saves 15%.
Starter costs $99/mo (or $84/mo billed annually). It includes 10 articles per month, 20,000 credits per month, 50 prompts tracked daily, 200 tracked keywords, 20 Knowledge Base documents, 1 workspace, 3 users, and 5 competitors tracked.
Pro costs $199/mo (or $169/mo billed annually). It includes 15 articles per month, 40,000 credits per month, 150 prompts tracked daily, 400 tracked keywords, and unlimited Knowledge Base documents, workspaces, users (3 included), and competitors.
Scale costs $449/mo (or $382/mo billed annually). It includes 30 articles per month, 80,000 credits per month, 300 prompts tracked daily, 600 tracked keywords, and unlimited everything else - including unlimited users.
If you need limits beyond what Scale offers, or you need custom integrations or dedicated support, click "Contact us for a custom plan" at the bottom of the Change Plan modal.
To change your plan, go to Account Settings > Billing and click 'Change Plan'. You'll see all plans side by side with their limits. Pick monthly or yearly at the top, then click 'Upgrade or Downgrade'. No contracts and no cancellation fees - you can switch anytime.
What counts as a content item
Your plan limits how many content items you can generate per month. A content item is one article created through Content Editorial - either from scratch, from an opportunity, or through the quick-add flow. The counter resets every billing cycle.
Social posts (LinkedIn and Reddit) don't count as content items. They consume credits instead.
Manually written articles and social posts don't consume content items or credits on their own - you only spend credits if you use AI-powered features inside them, like AI Assist or AEO optimizations.
How credits work
Credits are the currency ContentMonk uses for AI-powered actions beyond article generation and prompt tracking.
One credit equals one word of generated output.
Credits are consumed when you generate social posts (LinkedIn and Reddit) using AI, use AI Assist to rewrite or write new paragraphs in the content editor, resolve comments with AI (comment solving), and run content updates.
Article generation and daily prompt tracking do not consume credits.
Manually written articles and social posts don't consume content items or credits on their own - you only spend credits if you use AI-powered features inside them, like AI Assist.
The Credits bar in the Usage panel breaks down your spending by type - you'll see a color-coded split showing how many credits went to LinkedIn posts versus Reddit posts, for example.
What each limit means
Content items generated - the number of articles you've created this billing period out of your monthly allowance.
Credits - total words of AI-generated output used for social posts, AI rewrites, and content updates. Resets every billing cycle.
Prompts Daily - how many prompts ContentMonk checks across AI models each day. This is a daily limit, not monthly. If your plan allows 150 prompts daily, ContentMonk tracks up to 150 prompts every day.
Tracked Keywords - the total number of keywords you can track in Rank Tracker across all your workspaces.
Knowledge Base - the number of documents you can store in Knowledge Base. Starter has a limit of 20, while Pro and Scale are unlimited.
Workspaces - how many workspaces you can create. Starter is limited to 1, while Pro and Scale are unlimited.
Competitors Tracked - the total number of competitors you can track across the product. Starter allows 5, while Pro and Scale are unlimited.
Users - team members who can access your account. All plans include 3 users. Scale includes unlimited users.
Add-ons
If you hit a limit but don't need a full plan upgrade, you can purchase add-ons. Click Add-ons on the Billing page to see what's available.
There are two types:
Subscription add-ons recur with your billing cycle: Additional User at $11/mo ($9.35/mo yearly) and 25 Additional Prompts at $39/mo ($33.15/mo yearly).
One-time purchases don't recur: 20,000 Credits for $29 per pack and Extra Article for $27 per article.
Note that if you're still in your free trial, purchasing any add-on will start your paid subscription immediately.
Managing your billing
Click 'Manage Billing' on the Billing page to open the Stripe billing portal.
From there you can update your payment method, change your billing address, view your invoice history, and cancel your subscription.
ContentMonk uses Stripe for all payment processing. Your charges appear as ContentMonk on your card statement.
Plan features
At the bottom of the Billing page, you'll see a Plan Features section listing what's included in your current plan across three categories: Content Creation (content templates, multi-repurposing, LinkedIn repurposing), AI Visibility / AEO (AI Visibility dashboard, prompt and keyword tracking, source and gap analysis), and Collaboration (team collaboration, multiple workspaces, invite team members).
